By Air: Chandigarh and Amritsar both have airports are linked to other cities in India by usual flights. Indian airlines do have regular flights from Chandigarh to Delhi, Lucknow, Leh, and Amritsar.
By Rail: The state also boasts of a good quality rail network. Most important Railway Stations in the state are: Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Ferozepur and Jalandhar. Important trains service these stations regularly.
By Road: The entire state is linked throughout an extensive network of medaled roads. State Highways attach main cities to the state capital. NH 1 or the Grand Trunk Road connects the state with most of the north as well as east India.

 

Punjab is one of India's most gorgeous states. It is located in northwestern India. The remark Punjab is derivative from the two Persian words “Panj” which means “five” and “ab” means “water”, so the mutual meaning of the Punjab is the land of five rivers namely - Indus, Ravi, Sutlej, Beas, and Jhelum that pour towards the southeast passage the entire state. Punjab, northwestern India, is surrounded on the west by Pakistan, on the north by Jammu and Kashmir, on the north east by Himachal Pradesh and on the south by Haryana and Rajasthan. The century old Punjabi culture is famous for its patience, progressive and reasonable move toward to life. Punjab has lots of things to proffer to an enthusiast who needs to travel around it. Some of the major cities in Punjab are Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala. As a culture, it is one of the most ancient in the world with a well-known culture. The state is prominent for its history, culture and cuisine.

Kambojas, Kaikeyas, Madras, Pauravas, Yandheyas were referred to as brave clans of Punjab. For a major period in the second half of the 20th century, Punjab led the other states in India to attain self-sufficiency in crop production. The British ruled Punjab for 200 years like the rest of India. Many of the Freedom Fighters of the Great Indian Freedom Struggle were from Punjab. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, Udham Singh were a few of the heroic sons of this soil who laid down their life for the country. In addition thousands of unsung hero’s sacrificed themselves in the "Jalia Wala Bagh" incident.
